A large prisoner swap with Russia could take place at Easter, Kyrylo Budanov said on March 26.

“Negotiations are ongoing and new exchanges will take place. I very much hope that at Easter we will all see a major exchange. We will do everything necessary for this,” he told families of prisoners of war.

Speaking to journalists, Budanov later clarified his remarks.

“I did not announce a prisoner swap. I said I hope that at Easter we will all see a huge swap. I will make every effort for this,” the presidential office head said.

Budanov did not specify which categories of prisoners could be included in the exchange.

“What other categories? Those who were captured,” he replied.
