Second trilateral talks on ending the war in Ukraine, held on February 4–5 in Abu Dhabi, were constructive and focused on ways to create conditions for lasting peace.

This is stated in a communiqué issued following the talks involving US, Ukrainian and Russian delegations, published by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov.

The document said the delegations agreed that Russia and Ukraine each released 157 prisoners of war. It was the first such exchange in the past five months.

«Over the course of two days, the delegations held broad discussions on the remaining unresolved issues, including methods for implementing a ceasefire and monitoring the cessation of hostilities, ” the communiqué said.

The delegations also agreed to continue trilateral talks in the coming weeks and expressed gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for organizing the meetings.

Ukraine also thanked President Donald Trump for his leadership in advancing efforts to end the war.
