The Kremlin has issued a cynical statement to Ukraine’s proposal for an Easter 2026 ceasefire, claiming it had not seen a “clearly formulated initiative” from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

These brazen remarks were made by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

As usual, he accused Kyiv of an alleged lack of will for the peace that Moscow supposedly desires. Peskov cynically emphasized that the Ukrainian President should "make a decision to achieve peace, not a truce."

To provide some sort of argument for his claims, the Kremlin representative lied about the "advances" of their occupying forces, asserting that this is why Ukraine "desperately needs any kind of truce."
