Putin’s spokesman makes statement about diplomatic end to the war

Russia says its so-called “special military operation” — in other words, the war in Ukraine — is ongoing.

The Kremlin cynically claims that a diplomatic resolution to the war in Ukraine “does not currently seem possible.” Moscow sees no fault of its own in this.

This was stated by the spokesman for Russia’s dictator-president, Dmitry Peskov.

He emphasized that during a conversation with the American leader, Putin reaffirmed that Russia is “interested” in achieving the goals of the “special operation” and “preferably by political and diplomatic means.”

However, Peskov cynically added, “this does not currently seem possible.” That is why, according to him, the aggressor country supposedly “continues the "special operation” — meaning the full-scale war in Ukraine.
