Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers has approved the termination of 116 international agreements with Russia, Belarus, and within the Commonwealth of Independent States, effectively completing the country’s exit from the post-Soviet treaty system.

This was announced by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

According to the foreign minister, the decision is intended to fully reset Ukraine’s legal framework in line with wartime conditions and Europe’s evolving security architecture.

«We must sever the final legal ties linking us with Russia, Belarus, and the so-called CIS, ” the minister said.

Under the government resolution, Ukraine terminated 25 agreements, denounced three more, and withdrew from 88 international treaties. Of the total, five involved Russia, 23 Belarus, 87 the CIS, and one was a trilateral agreement between Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus.
