Against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict in the region, where Iran is deploying strike drones, eleven countries have approached Ukraine with requests for support. In return, Kyiv expects reciprocal cooperation across four broad areas.
Speaking at a briefing, MFA spokesman Heorhii Tykhyi outlined them.
“First, this is strengthening Ukraine’s political support. Second, backing sanctions policy against Russia and Iran. Third, expanding practical cooperation in security and defense. And fourth, participation in Ukraine’s reconstruction and investment projects,” he listed the areas of cooperation, without going into further details.
Tykhyi noted that more details will be announced following concrete negotiations and agreements.
He also confirmed that Ukrainian experts are already working in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, including assisting in the protection of U.S. facilities from Iranian “Shahed” drones.
"An additional deployment of 34 specialists is being prepared. This was also announced by Ukraine’s president, who said that Ukrainian expert teams were already actively working with Middle Eastern countries, establishing high-level contacts, including through visits by Ukraine’s security and defense leadership," Tykhyi informed.
He stressed that Ukraine possesses unique, comprehensive experience in countering aerial threats, particularly those posed by Iranian drones.
“It’s not just about interception systems. Individual tools are not enough — what matters is the entire infrastructure: from radars to command centers. Software also plays a crucial role in ensuring effective defense. And most importantly, Ukraine has specialists with real combat experience who know how to deal with such threats,” the MFA spokesman explained.
