President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron. During the call, the Ukrainian leader shared his perspective on a recent conversation with Donald Trump and European colleagues.

Zelenskyy reported this on his official Telegram channel.

“We are coordinating our positions and share the view that a common European perspective on key security issues is essential for Europe,” the President noted.

He added that much depends on the balance and effectiveness of each step taken by Europe and America.

During the conversation, it was agreed that the work at the level of advisors and leaders must be effective. The presidents concurred that a real ceasefire is necessary, and Ukraine is ready for it.

"And it is from Russia that there is still no clear public response. So, the coming period will show what the consequences will be if Russia continues to prolong the war and undermine constructive efforts," Zelenskyy emphasized.

Finally, the leaders agreed to discuss the outcomes of their upcoming talks with other leaders later in the day.
