Is Russia truly preparing for a World War? NSDC comments on the threat

Andriy Kovalenko debunked the notion of Russia’s independent military might, emphasizing its dependence on support from third countries.

Claims about Russia preparing for a world war indicate that Europe fails to understand the real threats.

This was the response of Andriy Kovalenko, Head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), to a report by the German outlet Der Spiegel.

“When Der Spiegel writes that "the Kremlin is preparing for a world war," I once again see that Europe does not understand the real threats. These threats are not so much in the Russian army or its weapons as such,” Kovalenko stated.

He noted that Russia will not have the resources to wage war independently even in 4–6 years.

The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation explained the main threat.

“The primary threat is the Russian army that could include North Korean troops. Additionally, the development of drones with Chinese AI and other types of weaponry. The emphasis is on quantity, which Russia can only achieve with the support of third countries, as well as changes within their army,” the statement reads.
