Andrii Matiukha Foundation Supports Energy Workers’ Safety

1,500 Energy Workers to Receive Life-Saving Knowledge with Support from the Andrii Matiukha Foundation

The Andrii Matiukha Foundation has joined the “Ukrenergo Repair Workers Protection” project. The initiative was created to train repair crews in basic first aid skills. A total of 75 training sessions are planned for company personnel.

Since the start of the full-scale war, Ukraine’s energy system has been under daily fire. Since 2022, more than 30 large-scale attacks have been recorded, destroying thousands of facilities. During this time, 160 energy workers have died and over 300 have been injured. Tragically, 13 Ukrenergo employees lost their lives while performing their duties.

This is dangerous work, as going out to damaged lines or substations always carries risk. First aid skills have become as essential as professional training.

All program participants will practice actions in critical situations. They will learn how to apply tourniquets, stop severe bleeding, and provide resuscitation. Upon completion, each participant will receive a certificate.

“Energy workers restore power even when it seems impossible to recover anything. They risk their lives every day, so I want these people to have basic medical skills. Knowing how to act in the first minutes after an injury can often decide a person’s fate. For me, this is a matter of respect and responsibility toward those holding the country on the energy front,” says Andrii Matiukha.

The Andrii Matiukha Foundation operates systematically. In 2025, the Foundation has already supported the purchase of equipment for Okhmatdyt hospital and became a partner of the “Origami for Ukraine” art installation, which raises funds for the rehabilitation of Ukrainian soldiers.
