Bringing peace closer depends on the combat operations of the Ukrainian military on the frontline rather than political forecasts.

Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Anatoliy Hnatov shared this view while commenting on rumors that the war could end in November 2026 during an interview with the Ukrainian news outlet LIGA.net.

Will the war end in November 2026? Hnatov’s statement

«I am not a politician. I am a military man. We are doing everything possible on the battlefield. There are processes taking place in the upper echelons of power. Obviously, when the moment comes, we will find out about it,» Hnatov noted.

At the same time, he acknowledged that the end of the war is signaled primarily by the «decisive actions» of the Ukrainian military on the frontline.

«Everything we do indicates that sooner or later this will end. I am convinced of this. I believe that sooner or later, Ukraine will achieve a just peace,» the military commander added.

The outlet reported that discussions regarding a potential timeline for the end of the war have resurfaced in Ukrainian political circles, triggered by a closed-door meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the heads of parliamentary factions.

Following the meeting, November 2026 has been increasingly cited behind the scenes in the Verkhovna Rada as a likely turning point.
