The aftermath of the strike on Feldman Ecopark
Debris is still being cleared at the Feldman Ecopark in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, and animals may still remain trapped under the rubble.
On January 1, Russia struck the Feldman Ecopark with a guided aerial bomb. Some animals were killed, although the exact number is still being clarified. This was reported by the park’s spokesperson, Olena Klymenko, during a broadcast on Den.LIVE.
“The park was damaged by 90%. There was not a single intact enclosure left. The building, where birds were kept, had been restored and rebuilt from scratch, and now it has once again been destroyed. What we rebuilt with such strength, such determination and faith in a better future has once again suffered destruction,” Klymenko said.
The spokesperson said that following the strike, people started calling in and arriving on their own to offer help.
In the morning, volunteers and residents of Kharkiv joined the effort to clear the rubble and support the park.
