How Ukraine can defeat Russia: Military intelligence veterans explain
Ukrainian servicemen emphasize: the enemy learns quickly and is not inferior in professional training.

Russian troops are well-trained, possess combat experience, and have significant resources, which means Ukraine must act with intelligence, not numbers.
This was stated by veterans of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
The enemy is not as simple as it seems
Veterans of the «Kraken» special unit Taras Prots and of the Department of Active Operations of the Defence Intelligence Serhii Shykun stress that the myth of the «stupid Ivan» is dangerous. According to them, the Russians undergo the same kind of training as Ukrainian soldiers and sometimes demonstrate ingenuity in tactical actions.
«There’s a myth that Ivan is stupid. No. People there have gone through the same training… In this, we are the same, ” the fighters emphasize.
Shykun gave an example when Russian soldiers crawled within a few meters of Ukrainian positions, cut wires, and left symbolic «marks» on mines. Ukrainians responded in kind, turning it into a kind of «chess game between sappers.»
What advantages Russia has
According to the veterans, a significant part of Russian units has taken part in combat campaigns in Syria, Chechnya, the Caucasus, and Karabakh. They specifically mentioned the «Senezh» special forces center, where professional soldiers are trained with experience in various conflicts.
«Do not underestimate them. These are professional fighters with experience and resources, ” Prots emphasizes.
Where the Armed Forces of Ukraine are stronger
Despite Russia’s numerical advantage, which involves recruits from different regions, including Yakutia and Buryatia, Ukrainians have a stronger side — intelligence and the ability to adapt quickly.
«We can only win if we use our advantages against the enemy’s weaknesses. If we go head-to-head, we will lose, ” Prots notes.
The veterans stress that Ukraine’s victory is possible only through creativity, unconventional solutions, and maintaining the initiative.
