Missile strike on Kryvyi Rih: What is known about devastating consequences
29 high-rise residential buildings have been damaged in the city, around ten of them severely, with one building effectively destroyed.

A missile and drone attack by Russia’s terrorist army on the city of Kryvyi Rih in Dnipropetrovsk region damaged 29 high-rise buildings and injured 17 people. On the evening of January 8, the city was hit by two Iskander ballistic missiles, following one of the most powerful combined overnight attacks.
The head of the city’s Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul, reported the terrible consequences of the attack.
According to him, among the victims are three children and eight women, while 15 wounded remain in the city’s hospitals.
«One man is in serious condition, another in critical condition. Others are in moderate condition. Doctors are providing all necessary assistance and fighting for their lives, ” Vilkul reported.
In the city, 29 apartment buildings were damaged, about ten of them very seriously, and one of the buildings was practically destroyed.
«Up to 10 businesses and cars were also damaged. In addition to residential buildings, an infrastructure facility was hit, ” the head of the City Defense Council reported.
The Russian strike left many residents of Kryvyi Rih without electricity. Utility crews are working to restore supply.
«At present, 115,823 subscribers are disconnected from electricity, and half an hour ago 161,000 were disconnected — 45,177 were switched to other lines, ” Vilkul noted.
According to him, the city’s water supply system is working, although the pressure in the network will be lower. Because of the blackout of four large boiler houses, about 1,400 buildings are without heating.
«By morning we plan to restore heating in all 335 buildings, ” Oleksandr Vilkul promised.
At the site of the enemy strike, an emergency rescue operation is underway, involving all necessary emergency and municipal services.
«A help headquarters has been deployed and is operating, all necessary construction materials have been delivered. Those whose apartments were damaged can receive them — OSB, film, battens and so on. Applications for financial assistance from the city are also being accepted — 16 applications have already been received, ” the head of the City Defense Council said.
