Overnight attack on Kharkiv, Kyiv, Odesa: Casualties, destruction and train delays

As a result of the overnight strike on Odesa, one person was killed. In Kyiv, drone debris damaged several buildings. Several Ukrzaliznytsia trains are running with delays.

At night, the Russian army again attacked Ukraine with drones. There is damage, casualties, and injuries in major cities.

Kyiv

At night, July 7, Russian drones attacked Kyiv, resulting in damage to infrastructure, including a large-diameter heating network. Approximately 500 buildings, including residential buildings, medical facilities, and schools, were left without hot water supply.

This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.

According to the Kyiv City State Administration, a one-meter-diameter heating pipeline was damaged. The city’s utility services are currently working to address the issue. Additionally, windows were blown out at one energy facility.

In the Desnianskyi District, drone debris damaged the facade of an administrative building, a gas pipeline, and an empty reservoir. A fire also broke out due to the drone debris.

In the same district, debris caused a car to catch fire. The blast wave shattered windows in a non-residential building and damaged several parked cars.

In the Solomianskyi District, drone debris fell on the territory of a car wash, damaging several vehicles and a water supply pipe.

In the Holosiivskyi District, windows in one of the office buildings were damaged.

According to preliminary information, there are no casualties or injuries.

Kharkiv

On the morning of July 7, Russian terrorist forces attacked Kharkiv with strike drones, causing a fire in a high-rise building. Children are the 20 injured.

Closer to 6 a.m., Ihor Terekhov reported on social media that Kharkiv was attacked by two enemy «Shahed» drones. The Shevchenkivskyi District of the city was hit.

The mayor noted the possibility of repeated strikes on Kharkiv and, minutes later, reported additional explosions in the city.

In the Shevchenkivskyi District of Kharkiv, a UAV hit a residential building, causing a fire on the 9th floor. Two more strikes occurred in the Slobidskyi District, also hitting a high-rise building.

Later, Head of the Regional Military Administration Oleh Synehubov, clarified that a fire broke out on the 8th floor of a building in the Shevchenkivskyi District, with an estimated fire area of 10 square meters, and there were casualties. He noted that the number of injured had risen to 23, including 3 children (15 in the Shevchenkivskyi District and 8 in the Slobidskyi District).

«Medical assistance is being provided to all. State Emergency Service units are working at the scene, ” the head of the Regional Military Administration stated.

Odesa

On the night of July 7, the Russians attacked Odesa with drones. As a result of the attack, one person was killed, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reports.

At 00:51, the Russian army launched another attack with strike drones on Odesa and the surrounding area. The Regional Military Administration urged residents to stay in shelters. At 02:14, the air alert in the region was lifted.

Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Oleh Kiper, reported that a fire broke out in a security office near a new building as a result of the strike. One of the security guards was killed.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the enemy attack in Odesa damaged 10 garage premises, an administrative building at a service station, and several construction trailers. Russian drones destroyed passenger cars, trucks, and a bus. Fires broke out at the scene, which were extinguished by rescuers.

Sumy region

Over the past day, Russian forces carried out nearly 90 attacks on 38 settlements in 14 territorial communities of the region. One person was injured due to an FPV drone strike in the Khotyn community.

On the morning of July 7, the State Emergency Service reported another person injured from a strike on Bytytsia in the Sumy region. In total, as of the morning, two people were injured. Additionally, two civilian men were killed. The deceased were 57 and 77 years old, according to the prosecutor’s office.

How Ukrzaliznytsia was affected

Due to a break in the contact network in the Khmelnytskyi region, several trains are running with delays of one and a half to two hours, according to Ukrzaliznytsia.

This affects trains to Kharkiv, Chop, Przemysl, Odesa, Lviv, Chernivtsi, Mukachevo, and others. The tracks are currently being repaired.

How air defense performed

At night, on July 7, the Russians attacked Ukraine with four S-300/400 anti-aircraft guided missiles and 101 strike UAVs of the «Shahed» type and other decoy drones.

This time, the enemy army launched missiles from the Kursk region and drones from temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as from Russian directions such a Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

Ukrainian air defenses neutralized 75 drones in the north, east, and south of the country. Of these, 58 were shot down, and 17 were lost on radar/suppressed by electronic warfare.
