Russia strikes gas production sites: What we know

Overnight on January 17, Russian forces attacked Naftogaz equipment used for natural gas extraction. No casualties were reported.

The company’s press service confirmed the incident.

“The enemy keeps hitting Naftogaz Group facilities. Last night was another strike on gas production equipment,” the statement said.

The company stressed that six attacks on Naftogaz infrastructure occurred this week.

“These are deliberate strikes on civilian infrastructure, intended to leave Ukrainians without heat and gas during the cold season,” Naftogaz added.
