Ukraine has funds for additional Patriot systems, but requires approval from U.S. President Donald Trump
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with the American TV channel Newsmax.
«I offered President Trump a package that we would purchase. We are ready to buy it. I spoke with some European leaders — they are ready to lend their support and contribute financially. And these are important things for us, but they depend on America. Yes, America is a powerful country — that’s a fact,» he said.
Zelenskyy continued:
«For example, Patriot systems are available in the U.S. And I want them very much for my people, to protect the civilian population. We are also talking with Europeans to find additional funding for these systems. And we are finding this money. We already have some positive developments. What we need now is President Trump’s approval,» the President concluded.
