During the night, Russian forces targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. As of Friday morning, emergency crews were working to repair damage at multiple critical facilities. More than 20 people were injured in different regions, and a child was killed in Zaporizhzhia.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

«It was a cynical and calculated attack — over 450 drones and more than thirty missiles aimed at everything that sustains normal life, everything the Russians want to deprive us of, ” Zelenskyy said.

The President added that the strikes caused power outages in the Kyiv, Donetsk, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions. In Kyiv, efforts are under way to restore electricity and water supplies. Damage was also reported in Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad and Kherson regions.

«Civilian and energy infrastructure are the main targets of Russia’s strikes ahead of the heating season, ” Zelenskyy said.

He again stressed the need for «decisive action» from the United States and Europe — including the delivery of air defence systems and stronger sanctions against Moscow.

«We count on a response from the G20 to this brutality — from all those who talk about peace but refrain from real steps. The world can defend itself from these crimes. Doing so will strengthen global security, ” the President said.
