An expert explains why Selydove is important for the enemy

The situation near Tsukuryne will affect the enemy's advance, which could capture the roads leading to Selidove.

The occupiers intend to surround Selydove in order to launch an offensive on Pokrovsk.

The occupiers intend to surround Selydove in order to launch an offensive on Pokrovsk.

The occupiers plan to encircle Selydove for a further offensive on Pokrovsk.

This was reported by military analyst Denys Popovych during a broadcast on Radio Svoboda.

"The will definitely try to encirlce Selydove. There were not very good reports from Tsukuryne yesterday. The situation in Tsukuryne directly depends on what happens around Selidove. If Tsukuryne is captured, the enemy will advance and block the roads leading directly to Selydove. A situation similar to that which occurred near Vuhledar could arise, where logistics are cut off, forcing our forces to retreat to avoid encirclement," he explained.

Popovych noted that Selydove is important due to the spoil tips, which allow for fire control over the area. He emphasizes that Selydove is crucial for the enemy because it facilitates their advance on Pokrovsk.

He stresses that the Russians will continue to use encirclement tactics, as they have an advantage in manpower. He also commented on the construction of fortifications by the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Pokrovsk and the initial fortifications on the way to Dnipro.

He says that fortifications should have been built earlier, but it is good that this is happening now. He emphasizes that this does not indicate preparations for a retreat from Pokrovsk, but rather the building of multiple lines of defense that were lacking near Vuhledar.
