Ukraine needs to develop nuclear energy – Nemchinov

Ukraine needs to develop and expand its nuclear energy sector, utilizing existing specialists and technologies.
This statement was made by Energy Club Vice President Maksym Nemchinov on the air of the "United News" telethon.
He says that Ukraine currently has almost 8 gigawatts of nuclear generation, which essentially forms the backbone of the energy sector.
"It would be a mistake not to develop nuclear energy in Ukraine, given our specialists, the available technologies, though not all, but certain ones, and the capability to do so. Therefore, we must develop this sector and undoubtedly follow this path," he said.
Nemchinov emphasized that nuclear energy, like green energy, has zero atmospheric emissions.
"In other words, it is also green energy. It is not renewable energy like solar or wind, but it is green energy," the expert stated.
