China is Close to Supplying Russia with Lethal Weapons: Expert Explains China's Interest
China may indeed provide Russia with tanks or other weapons for the war against Ukraine.
Recently, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that America has evidence that China is close to transferring lethal weapons to Russia. He did not give details, saying that he would make them public later. It may include tanks.
Military expert Serhiy Hrabskyi explains what China's interest in helping Russia is.
"This is an objective fact, because the enemy is experiencing a certain hunger for tanks, despite the fact that it has lots of resources, but they cannot be quickly restored. Thus, we see that China can give Russia tanks, which are Soviet-made, but modernized to a certain extent. Therefore, it will not be difficult for Russians to master them and arrange maintenance. China can also supply shells, artillery systems, and possibly communications equipment, because Russian military science is very far behind the state of art in this regard. Therefore, a wide range of supplies is very likely, and we cannot rule out the possibility that China will be interested in covertly (at least initially) supplying Russian troops with its military weapons," he said.
Hrabskyi says that China's interest lies in the fact that it wants to draw the West into a more exhausting war and, above all, to weaken Russia, because this way the war continues and everyone is absolutely aware of the comparison of the economic potential of the West and Russia.
"Objectively, by continuing this war, Russia is exhausting itself from an economic point of view. Recalling what has been repeatedly reported by American sources, 97% of the combat-ready units of the Russian army are already involved in the war in Ukraine, creating a "come and take" situation. This way, the Chinese army and the Chinese can enter Russia as far as they can and as far as they can afford and take the territories they need. To do this, Russia needs to be completely exhausted so that it is completely dependent on China and cannot take any offensive actions in the future," Hrabskyi believes.
Therefore, China's supplies of its ,ilitary equipment will not be a good service to the Russians, because they will not be able to take offensive measures. On the other hand, they will not be able to achieve victory.
