Russian propagandists have intensified their information campaign on the situation in Bakhmut, which is accompanied by new waves of storming the city, as Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar says.

She warns that Russians are voicing several narratives aimed at demoralizing Ukrainian society and the military:

- Allegedly, Bakhmut is not of strategic importance and its defense is a political decision.

"This is not true. The military has repeatedly explained the significance and objectives of the defense of Bakhmut. The decision to conduct combat operations is made by the highest military leadership," the Deputy Minister emphasized.

- The military command of the eastern direction is being discredited. Fake documents allegedly from the headquarters in the East are being posted.

- For the purpose of suggestion, they demonstrate the "strength" of the occupiers and the "weakness" of the defenders, revealing alleged plans for Bakhmut of both warring parties.
