After the statement of French President Emmanuel Macron about the potential readiness to send troops to Ukraine under certain conditions, the NATO Secretary General stated that there was no appropriate consensus in the Alliance. They are not ready for this. He also mentioned that the Ukrainian side did not ask to deploy NATO troops on its territory.

The representative of Ukraine to NATO, Ambassador Natalia Galibarenko, told about this, according to Ukrinform.

NATO countries express different positions

According to the ambassador, there are countries that say they are fundamentally ready to make a decision on the deployment of their military personnel. This will happen, for example, if there is a decision at the NATO level. Others say, that even without NATO's decision, they are ready to consider this initiative, but if it involves not armed units, but, hypothetically, instructors.

"By the way, we have raised the issue of sending Western instructors to Ukraine with NATO members more than once. This is because the effectiveness of training depends to a large extent on where the training takes place geographically. We would very much like these instructors to conduct appropriate training on the territory of Ukraine. Let it be, figuratively speaking, closer to our western border, but on our territory," the politician notes.

This could simplify a lot of logistical issues. Therefore, this discussion continues.

"This war has eliminated many taboos among our Western allies," Galibarenko summarized.
