“Last night was very restless”: Humeniuk told about the invaders' attack

Tonight, the enemy again attacked the territory of Ukraine, using Iranian attack drones of the "Shahed" type.
The Spokesperson of the Operational Command "South" Natalia Humeniuk spoke about the consequences.
"The night passed very restlessly. Against the backdrop of very difficult weather conditions, against the backdrop of a powerful thunderstorm over the Black Sea, the enemy used several waves of kamikaze drones of the “Shahed” type.
They were directed, using the features of the area. They approached for the attack from the Black Sea side to complicate their detection. In addition, there were wind, thunder, lightning, and the enemy tried to use all these natural phenomena to his advantage. But the advantage was again on the side of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Air defense forces worked quite powerfully, and about 10 "Shaheds" were destroyed in our area of responsibility. Unfortunately, there was a hit in the Kryvyi Rih district. There are damaged enterprises and an injured civilian. Civil enterprises were affected," she said.
Humeniuk also explained whether the bad weather affected the operation of the "Shahed" drones.
"We are still studying this question, but there were definitely complications in the operation of the air defense system. The "Shahed" drones are detected in particular by the sound. Perhaps they wanted to hide this treacherous sound behind a thunderstorm, lightning and thunder. However, our air defense system operated effectively, and everything that was directed towards Odesa and Mykolaiv regions was destroyed, with no successful hits," she clarified.
