Lavrov’s Representative Claimed that Russia Would Not Give Control over ZNPP to Any Third Parties

Mariya Zakharova, the Spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that the Russian terrorist state illegally holding Zaporizhzhia NPP under its control was not going to give control over the plant to any third party as part of any agreement on establishment of the nuclear safety zone, the Russian propagandist mass media report.

The propagandists claim that Russia is the only party only capable to ensure physical and nuclear safety of the ZNPP, totally disregarding the fact that the Russian invaders regularly bomb the territory of the plant and have deployed military equipment at the ZNPP site. Putin's troops are constantly blackmailing the entire world with their terrorist attacks.

"The withdrawal of Russian troops from ZNPP or transfer of control over the plant to any third party is not even discussed," the Spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Besides, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry refuted the statement of the IAEA Director General that Ukraine and Russia "were close to the conclusion of the agreement on ZNPP.

In response to this statement, in his comment for Interfax-Ukraine,  Ukrainian Presidential Spokesman Serhii Nykyforov stressed thst ZNPP must return under the control of Energoatom and must be connected to the Ukrainian power grid.

"The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant must return under the control of Energoatom, and all unauthorized individuals must leave the territory of the plant. The position regarding ZNPP is firm and consistent. The plant must be under control of Ukraine, must be completely demilitarized and must be connected to the Ukrainian grid. This is our starting point”, Nykyforov said.

According to him, any other conditions may be discussed with the IAEA.
