New Impeding Threat in Kherson Region: SSU Colonel Disclosed Details

The enemy doesn’t care about food security at seized territories, Roman Kostenko says.

The residents of Russia-controlled parts of Kherson Region are facing humanitarian crisis, since the Russian troops are using few available access ways across Dnipro river only for weapon delivery completely forgetting about food, as Secretary of the Parliamentary Committee for National Security, Defence and Intelligence Roman Kostenko said in his interview for TSN’s YouTube channel.

According to Kostenko, “now these regions may face an imminent humanitarian crisis”.

"The enemy is using all available (river crossings – ed.) to carry ammunitions and support its military logistics for its troops. However our civilians, who are staying there, may start running low on food, because the enemy doesn’t care about the food security. This is an imminent problem, and we have to understand how to manage it”, he explained.

According to Kostenko, the Russian troops and the Armed Forces of Ukraine are waging the “river crossing battle” in Kherson Region.

"It’s not just a one single area. They are using pontoon bridge crossings that are constantly erected in different areas. We can hit the ferries they use for carriages, but Russia is a country rich with resources, so they have plenty of this stuff. Add here the fact, that according to our data, they have resumed logistics supplies through Nova Kakhovka dam. Therefore, the battle is waged here: they build the temporary bridges, we hit and destroy them”, he said.
