President Volodymyr Zelenskyy highlighted the potential role of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in mediating peace negotiations to end the war initiated by Russia.

President Zelenskyy shared this in an interview with The Times of India newspaper.

"Modi is the prime minister of a truly vast country in terms of population, economy, and influence. Such a country cannot simply say they are interested in ending the war - we are all interested in that. Prime Minister Modi can influence the end of the war in Ukraine. This is his great value in any conflict. This is the great value of India," said Zelenskyy.

According to him, blocking the Russian economy, cheap energy resources, and Russia's defense industry "will reduce Moscow’s ability to wage war against us."

The President also raised the possibility of holding negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in India.

"Undoubtedly, it could be in India, and Prime Minister Modi could truly facilitate this. But I think we need to prepare and do it strictly according to our format, since the war is happening on our land. We have a platform - the Peace Summit," he said.
