On the morning of January 18, Romanian farmers used machinery to block the Halmeu-Diakove checkpoint on the border with Zakarpattia region. Queues of vehicles formed near the checkpoint.

This was reported by the State Customs Service press service.

"The Romanian side has informed that farmers have blocked the movement of freight vehicles in front of the Halmeu-Diakove international checkpoint.

The blockade is carried out with large agricultural machinery," the statement reads.

It is noted that the movement of trucks leaving Ukraine is temporarily suspended to prevent the blockade of the passage for cars. The duration of the blockade is currently unknown.

Currently, around ten trucks are waiting to leave Ukraine, and there are 607 vehicles in the queue.
