Russia Is Waiting for a New Batch of Iranian Drones – Defence Intelligence
Russia will soon receive another shipment of Shahed drones from Iran.
Russia will soon receive a new batch of "Shaheds" from Iran, but the exact number of drones to be supplied is currently unknown. So far, the enemy has used about 660 drones, while the contract provides for 1,750 UAVs, as Vadym Skibitskyi, a representative of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, reported.
"They have used a large number of them in recent days, and these stocks need to be replenished. According to our data, they will have another batch of delivery now - we will specify the number of drones later," the Defence Intelligence representative said.
According to him, previously Russians imported drones in batches of 250-300 units. He also noted that the Russians use different altitudes and directions to bypass air defense, as well as change the areas where they launch drones.
"A massive swarm of drones is aimed at breaking through our air defense system and hitting target, bBut if you launch a small number of drones - 5-10 drones - this effect will not be achieved. Therefore, they are trying to break through our air defense system with a large number of them, and this is confirmed by our Air Force. According to them, during the last attacks, for the first time, NASAMS systems were reloaded during the raid. If there is a very large number of drones in a particular direction, they can simply break through the air defense system in that area. In this way, they are trying to achieve their goal of hitting targets," Skibitskyi explained.
Now the enemy is launching drones from the Russian coast of the Azov Sea, and before that they launched from Crimea. They may also choose another direction, where Ukraine has fewer air defense systems.
