The Russian army is attempting to resume offensive operations in the eastern direction. The occupiers, in particular, are doing this in order to divert the reserves of the Defense Forces from the Ukrainian offensive.

This is stated in the statement of Mykola Urshalovich, Deputy Director of the Implementation and Planning Department of the National Guard of Ukraine.

According to him, last week the Russian army conducted assault operations on the positions of the National Guard units on the Kupiansk, Lyman, and Siversk directions. However, these attempts were unsuccessful. The Russians actively used rocket artillery and aviation.

In the Bakhmut direction, reconnaissance-strike teams of the National Guard continued to destroy enemy equipment and field ammunition depots, gradually exhausting the enemy's capabilities to conduct active defense.

Additionally, on the Melitopol direction, National Guard units continued their offensive actions. In particular, Ukrainian defenders were fortifying the achieved positions and conducting reconnaissance and demining operations in the areas designated for further tasks.
