Russian May Use Belarus for “Rogue War” against Ukraine – Military Expert

Military expert Serhii Hrabskyi spoke about a risk of ground invasion and missile strikes from Belarus potentially targeting Rivne Region, Volyn and northern parts of Ukraine.

The expert shared his opinion during his interview for FreeDom channel.

According to him, the situation in Ukrainian regions sharing a border with Belarus is getting more and more complicated due to the constant threat of air and missile strikes.

"Recently, Russia has started to deploy there (in Belarus – ed.) its ground troops in a limited number, but the more concerning is deployment of Russian air forces on Belorussian air fields, which may be indicative of ongoing preparation for air strikes against the northern part of Ukraine. We have to realize that Russia has already used most of its cruise missiles, so now the invaders may switch to the rogue tactics of air raids targeting our northern lifelines. By lifelines I mean the railway network – Yahotyn, Kovel, Sarny, Korosten, et cetera. The purpose of these attacks may be destabilization of situation in these region and demonstrative and provocative activities to bind a part of the Ukrainian forces”, Hrabskyi explained.

As for ground invasion from Belarus, the military expert believes that now it’s too early to discuss these concerns due to limited number of overland troops deployed near the border. Nevertheless, according to Hrabskyi, the threat of air strikes is only getting worse.

"We have very efficient air defence system, so Russia will attempt to strike us from long range without entering the interception area of our air defense units. The strikes will be scattered and unconcentrated creating even more danger for civilians”, the expert warned.
