"Vital Task": Military Expert Explained Why Liberation of Southern Regions Is So Essential for Ukraine

According to him, by securing Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and a part of Donetsk Region, the Ukraine may eliminate land corridor to Crimea and create a significant threat for Russian alignments deployed on the peninsula.

Hrabskyi explained the importance of this strategic task during his interview for FreeDom channel.

"The southern direction is a critical for or country. Liberation of the southern territories is our key strategic goal. If we take a look at the southern areas and divide them into several parts, then the right bank of the Dnipro river is now used as the base for Russian air forces and the “bridgehead” for advance towards Mykolaiv, and further towards Transnistria and Moldova, as they previously announced”, the expert explained.

According to him, liberation of territories to the right from the Dnipro would result in elimination of strategic threat for Ukrainian and Moldavian Black Sea cost.

"If we speak about liberation of the southern districts and northern Tavria, which is Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and a part of Donetsk Regions, this would result in elimination of the land corridor to Crimea. We would also cut off the water supply to Crimea. With the use of modern weapon system, we may create a significant threat for Russian alignments deployed", the expert added.

According to Hrabskyi, in this way Ukraine would be able to reduce the treat of missile strikes launched all across the territory of Ukraine from Russian military facilities in Crimea.

"So from the broader perspective, this is a vital task for our country. If we create a threat for Russian military facilities in Crimea, we will ensure safe navigation in the western part of the Black Sea and transit of goods from Ukraine to the Mediterranean Sea, at cetera. This is a critical task for us”, the expert emphasized.
