The Western Fuel and Energy Company has carried out its first-ever seaborne delivery of diesel fuel. ZPEK CEO Oleg Chykyda explained that the company sees the new route as an expansion of its logistics capabilities rather than a change of course.
The company made its first seaborne delivery of EN590 diesel fuel via the Constanța–Izmail route. ZPEK notes that the new route has broadened its logistics options and become another tool for organizing fuel imports.
ZPEK CEO Oleg Chykyda explains that this decision is driven by entirely pragmatic logic. "We don't build routes for the sake of routes," he says. According to him, it is important for the company that every delivery has clear economics: a predictable price for the customer, an acceptable delivery time, and reliable logistics.
The head of the company separately stresses that moving into the southern direction does not signal a change in strategy. "This is not a strategic pivot, but one more working delivery option that we can use whenever it proves the most efficient," Oleg Chykyda explains. He recalled that back in early June he had explained why ZPEK does not place a separate bet on the southern direction, and that reasoning remains unchanged.
The company uses different delivery options depending on market conditions, the economics of a given supply, and the availability of transport corridors. ZPEK adds that it will continue to choose the most efficient logistics solutions for each delivery.
