Shellfire, Explosions, Burning Fields, Growing Resistance Movement: Situation in Kherson Region
On July 5th, Kherson Region continues to suffer from shellfire, gunfire and explosions resulting in civilian casualties. The crop fields are on fire, while the Russian invaders are planting landmines on the river banks.
Meanwhile, according to Serhii Khlan, the Deputy of Kherson Regional Council and the Adviser to the Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, the guerilla resistance movement in the region is on the rise.
"Kherson Region continues to suffer from shellfire, gunfire and explosions. The area is restless, loud and constantly disturbed by air raid alarms. The crop fields are on fire, while the Russian invaders are planting landmines on the river banks. There are casualties. There os no communication or Internet access. Many people are illegally detained and kept in jails and torture basements set by the invaders”, his post reads.
Meanwhile, the Russian propagandist mass media are sharing a video showing a crowd of people in Kherson Region waiting in the line to get a Russian passport. These are mostly senior people in the age of 60+ years.
"There is no youth there. No one is willing to accept the bloodstained passport automatically convertible into a ticket to war. Although, seems like the senior citizens don’t mind. I guess some of them indeed hold pro-Russian political believes, although the absolute majority is simply the people living on the edge of survival due to invader’s actions. Most likely, the Russian orcs will later use the holders of Russian passports for their fake referendum”, the Adviser to the Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration.
He also referred to the recent statement by Ukrainian intelligence, according to which August would become the breaking point of this war. Therefore, Khlan advised to ignore the passport issue and reports by the Russian propagandist.
According to him, on June 4th, some unknown individuals removed the “vyshyvanka” ornament from the Heavenly Hundred Monument.
“The resistance movement in on the rise in the region. Its members track down the gathering points of Russian orcs and collaborators and identify the traitors among local civilians. Unfortunately, we indeed do have such cases. Although, regardless of their motives to cooperate with the enemy – whether these are money or political believes – they become accomplices in crimes and will face severe punishment”, Khlan added.
