The situation has once again escalated in the Bakhmut direction.
Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar reported this on Telegram.
“The duel for initiative interception continues. Today, the enemy attempted to advance in this direction but was unsuccessful. Our defense forces achieved some success. However, the situation is changing rapidly. Control over the same positions can be lost and regained twice within a day. The enemy is actively reacting to all actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is creating three lines of defense on the threatening directions," she noted.
According to Maliar's information, Ukrainian forces are engaged in battles but making progress in the area of Klishchiivka on the southern flank. However, fighting is ongoing on the northern flank.
Bakhmut itself is also restless, the Deputy Minister of Defense noted. She added that the enemy in the city is constantly firing, trying to disrupt logistics and inflict maximum losses on the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"At the same time, our defenders prevent the enemy from moving through the city and shell their positions," Maliar reported.
