There are certain developments: Ukraine is engaged in complex negotiations regarding additional "Patriot" systems

Ukraine is engaged in difficult negotiations to obtain additional Patriot air defense systems from NATO countries.

Ukraine is negotiating to acquire additional Patriot systems, but it's a difficult task.

This was stated by Ukraine's representative to NATO, Ambassador Natalia Galibarenko, in an interview with "Ukrinform."

After the Ukraine-NATO Council meeting at the defense ministers' level in April, when President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the alliance ministers, Germany announced its decision to supply an additional Patriot system to Ukraine. However, according to Galibarenko, not all NATO countries have such systems necessary for intercepting Russian ballistic missiles.

"The countries that have Patriots, apart from the USA, have limited units of such systems and are forced to consider their capabilities in terms of their own national security, the political situation in the country, and sometimes future elections," the ambassador explained.

According to her, despite the difficulties, there are some shifts in the negotiations. Some countries express potential readiness to provide Ukraine with Patriot systems, but they raise questions about what to replace them with. This aspect also needs to be taken into account during the discussions.

"I cannot go into detail on this, but some countries express potential readiness to provide Ukraine with Patriot systems. They, of course, raise questions about what to replace these systems with, and this aspect we also need to take into account," Natalia Galibarenko says.
