This is done since Ukraine perfectly realize that the West’s capabilities are limited, and it does have a capacity to provide large volume of weapon, as Oleksiy Arestovych, the Adviser to the Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office, said during  his livestream with Mark Feigin, the Russian journalist critical of the government and human rights advocate, on June 14th.

"We always request only minimal quantity of weapons. This is a large continental war. If the Russian deploy 1200 units of 152-caiber artillery, we need at least 500 units in order to resists them. Now the ratio is 1 to 10. It’s not about ambition to break the NATO’s unity or make profit at someone else’s expense. It’s a simple military necessity, and if they want Ukraine to prevail, these needs must be satisfied. We don’t ask for anything in excess of what we really need. I know how the weapon aid requests are prepared. I personally witnessed this process. The problem is that we initially underestimate the quantity of weapons, because we understand that the western capabilities are also limited. We ask for less than we actually need. However, we cannot request too little, because this is a large continental war”, Arestovych said.
