Ukraine Expects to Receive at Least One Million Shells from Partners for Counteroffensive Operation – Reznikov

Minister of Defense Oleksii Reznikov emphasizes that Ukraine's priority today is ammunition, and millions of shells are needed.

Ukraine hopes to quickly receive air defense equipment and additional ammunition from its European partners, including one million 155 mm caliber shells, as Ukraine's Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said before an informal meeting of EU defense ministers in Stockholm, Ukrinform reports.

"We will discuss our priorities with our friends and partners, with the EU defense ministers. The top priority is air defense systems, as well as ammunition, ammunition and ammunition again. That's why I support the initiative of my friend Hanno Pevkur (Estonian Minister of Defense - ed.) to supply 1 million rounds for 155 mm artillery systems," Reznikov said.

The minister also emphasized that Ukraine needs to continue receiving armored infantry fighting vehicles, as well as Leopard tanks and other weapons from the "tank coalition" that will allow Ukraine to create a "steel fist" and be ready for a counteroffensive.

Answering a question about the slowdown in the delivery of military aid from the EU due to bureaucratic procedures, Reznikov said that as a lawyer, he believed it was important to follow all legal procedures and rules, but it is necessary to take into account that in wartime, the speed of delivery is crucial.

"As [NATO Secretary General] Jens Stoltenberg told us in Brussels during the last Ramstein meeting, time is of the essence. That is why we need to move forward as quickly as possible," the Ukrainian Defense Minister emphasized.
