Russian forces are actively attempting to weaken Ukraine’s defenses in Kursk region.

This was stated by military expert Ivan Stupak on Radio Svoboda.

“My inner expectation is that maybe we will be forced out of the Kursk region by the end of this year. However, this could come at a cost, potentially accompanied by our losses. We are already incurring significant losses of personnel, equipment, ammunition, and, additionally, time. Time is crucial for planning all these operations,” he said.

He emphasized that the primary threat is the potential advance of the occupiers into Ukrainian territory and a major danger originates from Kursk region. First, there is uncertainty about whether Russian forces would stop at this line if they were pushed back. Secondly, how hard they will try to break through to the city of Sumy.
