President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy states that Ukraine will be able to join NATO only after winning the war with Russia.
He said this during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Ukrainian officers undergoing professional military education courses.
According to Zelenskyy, some members of the North Atlantic Alliance still feel the risk or skepticism regarding our country's accession to NATO. Therefore, membership should not be expected until the war with Russia is over.
"And certainly, Ukraine's level, which is going through a full-scale war, in terms of compatibility, its level of military expertise, no one will question. Certainly, these are experts of a high level in various fields," the President emphasized.
Moreover, the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense was discussed at the meeting. As Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted, thanks to the support of our partners, our servicemen are mastering modern Western weapons and sharing our experience - the experience of protecting life in modern warfare.
"The security that Ukraine is fighting for will certainly become the common security of our entire Europe when the actual reality is recognized de jure - when Ukraine joins the Alliance," the Head of State said.
The President also thanked those who implement NATO standards in the Defense Forces of Ukraine and build cooperation with the bloc for decades to come. The officers, whom Zelenskyy visited with Stoltenberg, are trained precisely according to the Alliance standards.
