Ukraine plans to immediately proceed with democratic elections after achieving a just peace.
This was stated by Head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, in an interview with "The Telegraph".
"Looking at the reality, the President has said that after establishing a just peace, we will be ready to immediately proceed with proper democratic elections in our country," Yermak noted.
When asked about the possibility of elections in 2025, Yermak emphasizes that the President of Ukraine is ready for elections "at any moment" but stresses the importance of ensuring all conditions for their democratic conduct.
"This means that all Ukrainian citizens must have the opportunity to vote, including our heroes, our soldiers on the frontlines, as well as those who have temporarily left the country," he explained.
The Head of the Office of the President also highlights that for the elections to take place, the international community must recognize them as meeting all democratic standards.
Yermak adds that Ukraine is currently focusing its financial resources on supporting the military, paying salaries, and ensuring basic needs to secure victory in the war.
