President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that among the deficient weapons in Ukraine, the most lacking are air defense systems.

The head of state made this statement in Vilnius during a joint press conference with Lithuanian leader Gitanas Nauseda.

According to him, in the near future, Ukraine will not be able to produce modern air defense systems with its partners.

"Regarding what we are unable to produce together with partners in the near future, it is modern air defense systems. There is a severe shortage of them. I believe you saw that, in recent days of December and the first days of January, Russia struck civilian infrastructure, people, schools, kindergartens, infrastructure, including energy system," Zelenskyy emphasized.

The head of state mentioned the latest massive Russian missile attacks on Ukraine. According to him, the invaders struck about 500 times. Ukraine was able to repel 70% of these strikes. Zelenskyy noted that this can only be fought with technology. That is why air defense systems are the most lacking.

Zelenskyy noted that combating this requires technology, which is why air defense systems are what is most needed.

The President also reported that Ukraine has agreements with Lithuania and other partners regarding anti-drone systems, as well as domestic production of UAVs.

"The production of our drones, I will not talk about the quantity now, but we are also increasing domestic production. This is what the current time and the security of our civilian population demand," added the Ukrainian leader.

Zelenskyy also stated that many bilateral agreements were signed between Ukrainian companies and Lithuania during his visit, as there is currently a shortage of weapons worldwide.

"We will do this constantly, not waiting for the entire deficit to be covered on its own," he added.
