Belarus raises troops for «inspection»: Situation at the border with Ukraine

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine currently reports no movements of personnel or military equipment from Belarus. No abnormal situations have been observed at the border, spokesman Andriy Demchenko said during a briefing.

He noted that Belarus continued to station some military units in the border zone.

«Belarus maintains a number of units along the border, apparently to signal it perceives a threat from Ukraine. Overall, however, there are no abnormal situations at the border, ” Demchenko said.

Meanwhile, Belarus is conducting various measures related to inspecting the combat readiness of its armed forces.

Ukrainian border guards recently observed another stage of a sudden comprehensive combat readiness check.

«A few days ago, we recorded another stage of a sudden comprehensive combat readiness test, ” Demchenko said.

Although Belarus has taken no active steps, this border direction remains potentially threatening for Ukraine. Ukrainian forces continue to strengthen defensive positions.

Demchenko added that engineering units of the State Border Guard Service, working with local authorities, are actively fortifying the border and building defensive structures.

«This ensures that all components of our Defense Forces on this front are fully equipped to counter any threat should it arise again from Belarusian territory, ” the spokesman said.
