In Mariupol, the invaders forcibly deport civilian residents to Russia. At least 15 thousand people have suffered from illegal deportation, according to the Mariupol City Council.

"It’s around a half of all civilians who still stay in Livoberezhnyi District. We have the evidence that the invaders order the people already exhausted by war to get into the buses as an ultimatum. We’re also aware that Russian troop confiscate the passports and other Ukrainian identity documents. The deported people are first detained at the so-called filtration camps, from where they are later allocated among various remote regions of Russia. As of today, we can confirm that at least 6 thousand of Mariupol citizens have been already deported to the aggressor state’s territory", the report says.

The City Council representative added, that for the last 20 days, the invaders have been blocking the humanitarian convoy preventing safe evacuation of people.

"The actions of Russian invaders are unexplainable and irrational. First, they besiege a peaceful city, deliberately murder civilians, then they forcibly deport our people to their territory. Ukraine haven’t faced anything like that since the World War II. Unfortunately, the history repeats itself. Only this time we have the “Rushists” instead of the fascists. Currently, we are working to develop a database of deported Mariupol residents and return them back to Ukraine", Vadym Boichenko, the Mayor of Mariupol states.
