Russians are Trying to Bring the War into Protracted Phase: Podoliak Explained the Reasons
The military command of the Russian Federation is trying to change the tactics.
Mykhailo Podoliak, the Adviser to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, believes that Russians are trying to turn the war into a partially “protracted phase” due to extremely high losses of personnel and equipment despite little-to-no progress achieved along all offence operation axes.
“All this cannot be hidden from Russian audience. Therefore, the Russian leadership is trying to use other tactics. To dramatically reduce losses to acceptable (from a propaganda point of view) level. And not to receive several hundred casualties every day, including high-ranking and middle-ranking commanders”, Podoliak explained.
According to him, Russians want to reduce all types of losses and try to “clean up” their rear from disloyal population (which is almost 90-95% of civilians). The invaders try to introduce new mandatory elements into their military tactics”.
“There is a partial entrenchment of Russians on the occupied borders, and such a concentration of forces and means of destruction around our large cities is needed to deliberately create thousands of humanitarian disasters. Such tactics is absolutely cannibalistic and has a clear legal definition in the international law, in particular in the war crimes and crimes against humanity section”, Podoliak believes.
