Russian president Vladimir Putin is using a "Jesuit" tactic in his dialogue with American President Donald Trump, simultaneously praising his opponent while undermining his reputation. This was said by Mykhailo Podolyak, Adviser to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, on the FREEDOM TV channel.
According to him, Putin's delay in implementing the 30-day ceasefire, which was initiated by the United States, was a blow to America's reputation and Trump personally.
"Putin is using a primitive Jesuit tactic — he simultaneously praises his opponent and slanders him, sorry, everywhere possible, erasing his reputation," Podolyak said.
The Adviser to the Head of the President's Office notes that the U.S. and Russia are on completely different civilizational poles with differing understandings of the basic tools necessary for civilization's survival. According to Podolyak, for Russia, such a basic tool is violence, while the United States seeks rules, and this is the essence of their competition.
“The United States must evaluate this [the delay in the ceasefire]. We are not giving them advice; they must assess it themselves and draw the appropriate conclusions,” he concluded.
