During the night of October 30, the Russian army launched one of the most powerful combined attacks on Ukrainian territory — the enemy deployed 705 aerial targets, including various types of missiles and kamikaze drones.
This was reported by Yurii Ihnat, Head of the Communications Department of the Air Force Command, during a national telethon broadcast.
«A similar strike — in terms of nature and target selection — occurred on October 5, ” Ihnat noted.
According to him, the enemy used its entire arsenal of weapons — missiles launched from air, sea, and land platforms. Among the weapons used were Iskander-M, KN-23, aeroballistic Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles, and dozens of Shahed drones.
«Ballistic missiles, unfortunately, cannot be intercepted where appropriate systems are lacking. As you know, ballistic threats are intercepted today by the Patriot system. It was a rather difficult task for air defense — a heavy load on both personnel and equipment, ” the Air Force representative explained.
Despite the scale of the attack, air defense forces shot down 623 aerial targets, which Ihnat called «a serious result.»
He also emphasized that Russia continues to upgrade its Shahed-type drones, which have been used since October 2022. New modifications complicate the work of Ukrainian electronic warfare systems and mobile fire units.
