Situation in Vovchansk remains tense

Russian troops advanced into Vovchansk from the flank due to challenging weather conditions.

Oleksiy Tuhay, commander of a mortar battery unit of the 157th Separate Mechanized Brigade, said this on Espreso TV.

He added that the situation on the Vovchansk front remains tense, with the occupiers continuing their offensive and scoring limited tactical gains.

«The enemy is pressing and sometimes achieves results, but we are holding the line and doing everything to stop them from moving further, ” the serviceman said.

Tuhay stressed that the Russian advance was only possible because of the bad weather, which the enemy took advantage of.

«The Russians got a bit lucky — the weather allowed them to enter Vovchansk from the flank, giving them local advantages. But now the weather is stabilizing, we can deploy drones again, and the enemy no longer has the gains they had earlier, ” he explained.

The serviceman stresses that Ukrainian units are taking every measure to contain the offensive and drive the enemy back.

«I am confident that the situation on the Vovchansk front will soon be balanced and stabilized, ” Tuhay added.
