Russians Force Mariupol Residents to Work for Water – Mayor
Mariupol is running low on the potable water, so the invaders have decided to use the critical situation with clean water availability for their own benefit.
The Russian troops are forcing the residents of Mariupol to work for the potable water, the supply of which is catastrophically scarce in the devastated city, as Vadym Boichenko, the Mayor of Mariupol, reports.
“Those residents who still in the city are complaining about the critical deficiency of clean water and food. The invaders have deployed several potable water banks in different areas of the city, however the access to water is granted only to those, who have fulfilled their “labor duty”. The people are mostly forced to clean the streets of the city, clear the debris and dispose of the dead bodies”, he explains.
Boichenko also notes that the centralized water supply has been shut down in Mariupol since the early March, while the city residents also have no access to gas and power supply and experience significant issues with food availability.
