Strike on "Ohmatdyt": The missile "hit the exact target it was programmed for" - law enforcement
The Russians hit the children's hospital with an X-101 missile.
Russian attack on "Ohmatdyt" in Kyiv, July 8
Law enforcement officials believe that the Russian X-101 missile hit "the exact target it was programmed for" during the strike on the children's hospital "Ohmatdyt" in Kyiv.
This information was reported by "Radio Svoboda," citing a source in law enforcement.
"The video shows a missile that, in shape and proportions (the ratio of the body length to its width), fully corresponds to a cruise missile. This is also clearly indicated by the presence of two wings located in the lower part of the body, which matches the design of the X-101 missile. At the back of the missile, there are three control rudders, which is also characteristic of the X-101 missile (whereas the "Kalibr" missile and all anti-aircraft missiles have four rudders). In front of the rudders in the lower part of the missile body, there is an engine located outside the body at the bottom. This is typical of the X-101 missile, whose engine protrudes from the missile body after launch from an aircraft," experts point out.
They also provided arguments supporting the idea that the target of the attack was indeed the children's hospital, and not any other object. Just before approaching the target, the X-101 missile performs a programmed "pull-up" to increase the attack angle. This is evident in the video that appeared online.
"In the video, we do not observe any smoke or fire from the missile. It is moving along the planned trajectory of the "pull-up" before the target, indicating that it was not damaged by air defense systems and hit the exact target it was programmed for," the source says.
Additionally, experts stress that the conclusion about the use of the X-101 missile "is confirmed by data from the impact site."
