The Armed Forces of Ukraine identified Putin's priority frontline direction
The occupiers are trying to occupy Donetsk region.
The Donetsk direction remains a priority for the Russian army, with a particularly tough situation near Chasiv Yar.
Ivan Tymochko, Had of the Council of Reservists of the Ground Forces, said this on the air of the telethon.
According to him, Ukrainian forces are also fighting in difficult conditions toward Vuhledar and Pokrovsk, as the invaders are making every effort to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk region.
"Putin still hopes that Russian troops will be able to occupy Donetsk region. This would allow him to outline some semblance of functionality for their so-called "special military operation" - like achieving one of its goals. This would give him the opportunity to take pauses in the war or enter into negotiation processes," Tymochko said.
To achieve this goal, Russian troops have been tasked with launching aggressive attacks to break through Ukrainian defenses, Tymochko added. He believes the Russian dictator aims to become a participant in negotiations at the second Global Peace Summit.
